Team Biographies
Dr. Mark Barnes, Founder and CEO, is responsible for strategy, content and business development, and research. Mark has owned and operated multiple out-patient orthopedic physical therapy clinics in Boulder, Colorado for 15 years. Mark also started and operated for 5 years, an out-patient worker’s compensation rehabilitation clinic, providing care for many large self-insured companies in Boulder County. Mark is an accomplished researcher, lecturer, publisher, and writer in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation. Mark started a small publishing company called Barky Publishing to self-publish his treatment manuals for his seminars on various physical therapy treatment approaches including Myofascial Release: scientific concepts and clinical applications, and an adapted yoga program called Golden Yoga for geriatric population. Mark has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University, Holds a three year Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University/Winchester Medical Center, and graduated from Colorado University with his Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology in 1990.
Jonathan Epstein, Founder and COO, is responsible for strategy and all day-to-day operations. He has 15 years of successful sales, management, account support, and product management experience in the enterprise software and insurance markets. Jonathan has successfully led sales teams, achieved objectives as an individual contributor, developed sales and marketing plans for start-up companies, and launched new products. Jonathan has been involved in multiple start-up ventures as a founder and early employee. He has worked for Teletrac, Lawson Software, Intrado, Mobile Airwaves, and Cigna. Jonathan has an A.A. in Business Management from Empire State College.

Len Kalm
Leonard Kalm, Regional Vice President of Managed Care for HCA’s Continental and Midwest Divisions. In this position, Len is responsible for all of HCA’s managed care activities in Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, covering 20 hospitals and 18 surgery centers. Len is also a HCA primary negotiator with several national insurers and health plans. Prior to joining HCA, Len spent 14 years on the payer side in various positions, including President of Qual Med Colorado and New Mexico, President of Foundation Health of Colorado, President of Foundation Health Medical Services’ 300 physician medical group and Vice President of Foundation Health Services’ Champus Program. Len has a master’s degree in hospital administration from Yale University.
Howard Diamond
Howard Diamond is Chairman of the Board for Rendezvous Entertainment. He is also a member of a number of corporate boards, and the Board of CCT, a major Colorado non-profit.
Howard was CEO, and Chairman of ePartners, a software services and consulting group until Dec 2007. Prior to ePartners, Mr. Diamond was CEO of EYT, a leading Microsoft partner that merged with ePartners.
Howard has also served as Chairman of Level 3 Communications, Inc.’s Information Services subsidiary, formed when Level 3 acquired Corporate Software (CorpSoft, Inc.) and Software Spectrum, Inc. in the first half of 2002. He had line responsibility for all groups within the Subsidiary, which contributed over $2.5 billion in revenue to Level 3 Communications in 2003. Howard joined Corporate Software in 1996, and served as Chairman & CEO until it was sold to Level 3. Under his leadership, the company doubled in 6 years, to become a $1.2 billion, profitable company with a dynamic sales and marketing engine that provided corporate customers with the most efficient and cost-effective way to acquire a broad range of technology solutions.
Prior to Corporate Software Howard was Executive VP of Course Technology, which he helped grow from a start-up to a company with $70,000,000 in revenue is 5 years.
Andy Brandt
Andrew Brandt has 20 years’ experience in the software, computer and technology industries, including two IPOs.
He is a founder of CrowdFunder.com and SchoolFunder.org, websites that allow individuals to raise money from large groups of people for any cause. He was VP-Technology and then Senior Vice President of Gaming at Sona Mobile (Nasdaq: SNMB), a leader in server-based and mobile gaming. Prior to that, he co-founded and ran Axis West LLC, a program trading firm focusing on statistical arbitrage and high-frequency equity and ForEx trades. Mr. Brandt's company, digitalWASABI LLC, developed the technology infrastructure, call center, and IVR for BingoTV, a live, televised, massively multi-player Bingo game show that aired on DISH Network (Nasdaq: DISH) to a live audience of hundreds of thousands of players. He served as CTO and was a Director of New Frontier Media (Nasdaq: NOOF) and led the migration to digital satellite broadcasting and designed and built the playout and broadcast facility.
Mr. Brandt holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of California at San Diego, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, 1990. He also holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina, 1993.
He lives in Boulder, CO with his wife, son, daughter, and three French Bulldogs.
